Rover 200 BRM

Following the first public showing of the 200 BRM at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show, Rover launched the car in October 1998.

With Retro interior styling, classic Brooklands green bodywork with contrasting BRM orange nose, the Rover 200 BRM takes it's styling cues from the BRM racing cars and the collaboration between Rover and BRM.

It seems an understatement to refer to these cars merely as a "Special Edition". There are so many differences compared with the Vi model that they really are a model in their own right.

The 200 BRM features the standard 200 vi specification including:

1.8 Twin cam 16v VVC 145 BHP Powerplant

Front fog lights

Rear body colour roof spoiler with integral 3rd brake light

Front & rear disc braking system with ABS

Sports seats with adjustable lower back support

Remote Central Locking

Electric door mirrors

Factory Alarm / immobilisor

Electric Front Windows

Drivers Airbag

Radio Cassette with dash top display and steering wheel control

Over and above this, The unique BRM specification includes:

Uprated suspension including 20mm reduced ride height

Close Ratio gearbox with TORSEN limited slip differential

Brooklands Green bodywork with contrasting orange enlarged air intake

Stainless Steel woven mesh Rover grill

Silver painted side rubbing trim, bumper inserts & rear view mirrors

"BRM" Enamel front wing badges

Orange "BRM" tailgate decal

16" six spoke Alloy wheels with BRM centre caps

BRM Stainless Steel door treads

Red carpeting

Red diamond stitched leather seats & door trim

Red seatbelts

Turned Alloy trim to dash insert, heater controls & electric window control surround.

Diamond stitched red centre console trim

Red/black sports steering wheel rim

Red handbrake lever grip

Red gear gaiter

Alloy Gear knob, gear gaiter surround and handbrake lever trim

Alloy heater controls

Alloy/Red leather effect door pulls

Alloy door woofer and tweeter speakers

BRM Handbook supplement

These are small, light and perform like a proper hot hatch should.

With a limited run of 795 cars produced for the U.K. market, these are currently incredibly affordable.

A really fun and interesting car. While they are so affordable most will be run into the ground, modified and/or crashed!

The time is right to buy a low mileage one to keep and use sparingly.
