Triumph TR5 p.i. The changeover model between the TR4a & TR6, The TR5 combined the pretty Michelotti TR4 shell with the new stroked to 2,500cc version of the Triumph 6 cylinder fitted with Lucas petrol injection which would be found in the later Kamm TR6. As a classic the TR5 is a great choice. Only 1,161 U.K. RHD 5's were produced, ensuring these cars will always be highly sought after and more exclusive than a lot of far more exotic machinery. With independent rear suspension, claimed 150 BHP, servo brakes, wind up windows & a well designed hood, they are very usable classics which can be enjoyed rather than sitting in the garage! They are simple to look after with many specialists and excellent and affordable parts back up.
Restored in the Mid 1980's by Cox & Buckles Richmond (Moss) for one of their directors & previously registered to them. History from '88 with many bills. 16 old MOT's showing mileage of 12,000 completed since 1988. Lots of receipts mainly from TR specialists inc Moss, Enginuity & TR Enterprises. Specification includes: Overdrive operating on 2nd, 3rd & top Chrome wire wheels with Pirelli P6000 195/65/15's Front Anti Roll Bar Oil Cooler & spin on conversion Rocker feed kit Alloy Triumphtune rocker cover Kenlowe electric fan Six branch manifold & sports exhaust system Bosch fuel pump As new black fabric roof & half tonneau Black trim / carpets with original TR5 black Ambla seats with white piping Matt Black motalita steering wheel Radio Cassette Period Electric Aerial Copy British Motor Heritage certificate
A very attractive UK RHD injected / overdrive TR5 with excellent history at sensible money. This is not a £30,000 freshly restored "5" but an older restoration that was done properly & has been well cared for since. Previously sold by us and a delight to offer again
